Gun control means “laws that control how guns are sold and used and whom can own them”. The word gun has the specific definition of “A weapon consisting of a metal tube with attachments from which projectiles are shot by the force of an explosive” A firearm is basicly the same but with a different definition a firearm specifically is “A small arms weapon, as a rifle or pistol, from which a projectile is fired by gunpowder”. There are also different classifications of weapons. The three main types of classifications of guns are fully automatic, semiautomatic, and other. Fully automatic guns are engineered for the battlefield, they shoot a steady stream of projectiles from attached clips or drums that holds a plethora of ammunition. A semi automatic gun is a gun that fires one single bullet every time the trigger is pulled and can fire dozens of bullets out of a magazine without reloading. The other types are single shot or manual types of guns where you have to reload or re enter a bullet in the chamber after every shot. There are different classes of guns ass well. These classes are Class III which is machine gun's, short barrel rifles, short barrel shotguns, suppressors, any other AOW weapon, and destructive devices. An AOW weapon is a weapon that has any of the characteristics of a class III gun or more. The classes below are guns that people use for recreational purposes such as hunting, shooting targets or skeet, or even as a protection weapon. The class that is the main concern of the people is class III, which is also the class that has the mont laws and the class that is getting debated about the most. Gun laws very from state to state, A law in one state can differ from another state according to the laws passed in that particular state.
